ALLEX orientation for the 2010 Taiwanese program was a great success! We selected twenty teachers from over 100 applications. The group departs on June 19 to begin the intensive teacher training program at Ohio State University. After their training at OSU, the teachers depart to their host university where they will start new Chinese programs and enhance current ones by teaching several courses of Chinese. The teachers are also able to pursue their own interests by taking several courses at the host university.

Four ALLEX instructors presented at the Association for Asian Studies conference last week in Philadelphia. Two gave presentations on pedagogy, one gave a talk on linguistics, and the fourth shared research on study abroad. Congratulations to all!
